The tall tales of the Paul Bunyan character and "Babe", his blue ox companion, were passed down orally before eventually being written down. With illustrations by Everett Gee Jackson. --- In full green cloth-covered boards with drawing of Bunyan as a giant baby on paper-covered boards backed in green cloth with gilt-stamped spine titling; dark green topstain. Sandglass flyer laid in (New York, no. 1J). Slipcase covered in green paper. --- A clean, tightly-bound, unmarked copy. Good only slipcase with complete tear along length (repaired in mis-matched paper), several other small spots of chafing but mostly intact.; Tall Octavo (9 to 10 in. tall); (8), 131 pages .
