About This Item

N.Y.: Samuel Wood & Sons, 1821. 30p. + 22 written diary pages. There are also a number of blank pages. A very good copy, covers are soiled, there are three signatures of former owners on the front free endpaper, and there is a little rubbing at the spine ends and the forecorners of the covers, The diary covers the second six months of 1822. The author is a woman from New York City. Health is always at the forefront and there was a serious Yellow Fever outbreak during the summer. The diarist seems to be a teacher and definitely is a Quaker. At the end of the almanac is a two page Table of Roads, giving distances between a variety of places.. Half Leather, Pap. Cvd. Boards. 12mo - over 6 3/4" - 7 3/4" Tall.
