Gilt text-block top edge. Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing, mild to end-papers and text-block edges. Damp stain to front free end-paper. Cracking to gutters, with exposed netting causing the binding to be shaky. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Minor fraying to cloth at spine ends. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Front board dust stained on the long edge.

Frontis is a [portrait of Tennyson. Very nice Handwritten Presentaion Inscription dated April 22nd 1879 on back of frontis. Front free endpaper missing. A few tiny spots of foxing to title page, text block clean. Slight edgewear to cover Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall

Bound in dark green leather boards with a gilt device of the college on the upper board. 5 raised bands at spine, inner dentelles to both boards, all edges gilt. A handsome set in full dark tan crushed morocco bindings ( by Stoakley, Cambridge ) with a look of the arts and crafts period. Raised bands, gilt inner dentelles, lettered in gilt, aeg. Very good, presentable, clean and sound set. Usual foxing around first and last leaves. No inscriptions. The bindings lightly rubbed, a little more so on the spines, modest wear to extremities, all joints, spine ends etc sound and presentable. London: Henry S. King and Company, 1876. Eleven volumes in original box. Essentially no wear to the volumes. Elaborate gilt work on front cover and spine with blind-stamp on rear cover. Cloth is age spotted and spines very slightly darkened. Green endpapers with green silk book-marks. Box is cloth-covered, with some wear and fading of the pink cloth to tan. Front flap corners torn but intact. Original red silk pulls to extract the books from the box. The books have been well-protected by the box. Three volumes of "Poems", four volumes of "Idylls of the King", single volumes of "In Memorium", "Maud", "The Princess" and "Enoch Arden". . Later Edition.. White Cloth. Minor Soiling. 5 1/4"x 3 1/4".
