LITERATURE; Engravings; tall 8vo 9" - 10" t; aprox 4300 pages; THE WORKS OF ALFRED, LORD TENNYSON - POET LAUREATE [COMPLETE IN 12 DELUXE VOLUMES] 3/4 calf leather [ with scuffs on spines and extermities], over marbled boards with matching marbled eps. Large paper limited Edition de Grand Luxe 638/1000. Spine lettered in gilt, raised bands, top edges gilt Illustrated title pages. About 15 illustrations per volume under tissue on heavy Japanese vellum type paper. Fore and bottom text block edges untrimmed with those tips toned- otherwise contents are clean and fine. About 360pp per volume. Provenance Edwin Scott Barbour and Edith Henry Barbour, photogravure armorial bookplate unsigned but believed designed by EDMUND H. GARRETT, a well known artist who did many bookplates . .
