The Works of Voltaire - The Collectors Edition

by Voltaire

Condition: Very Good/No Dust Jacket

Paris , London, New York, Chicago: E. R. Dumont , 1901. Very good condition plus hardcover books. All volumes have gold gilt to the top edges of the pages. 3/4 navy covered boards with 4 raised bands. This is the "Collectors Edition" which was limited to a prinitng of 600 sets with this set being number 421. This set has 41 of 42 volumes and is missing volume #2. All of the books are housed in slip cases. All of the books are in very good to fine condition with firm bindings and bright clean pages. All of the volumes has a previous owner's name and a date (1908) written on the title page. The volumes show some foxing on the pages where there are tissue guards, but otherwise the book pages are extremely clean and bright. The bindings that I checked were firm, but it is common for books of this period to have some weakening over time of the hinges. This is a very clean, collectible set of books. . First Thus. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Michael Bond - the man behind Paddington Bear
