London, 1869-1886: Smith, Elder & Co.. Octavo. In 24 illustrated volumes handsomely bound by Root and Son in 3/4 green morocco over marbled paper covered boards with matching endpapers, raised bands with compartments lettered and decorated in gilt, top edges gilt. Spines have all uniformly changed to brown, internally fresh and free from foxing. Only a few chips to heads, joints rubbed.
