A monograph based on an exhibition of Tobey's 1940s paintings and drawings of the Seattle Public Market, now known as the the Pike Place Market. Tobey (1890-1976) was the founder of the Northwest School of painters and one of the most influential twentieth-century artists of the Pacific Northwest.
[xvi], 64 plates (42 in color and 22 black-and-white).
This is one of 100 signed copies bound in full leather and issued in a slipcase. This edition was issued with a lithograph, not present here, as usual. First edition (first printing). A near fine copy in a very good or better slipcase. Lacking the separate lithograph.
