This elusive work - a title in the "Classics of American Architecture" series - provides a concise history of the Twin Towers, from the 1946 creation of the World Trade Corporation to the search for an architect (Minoru Yamasaki was awarded the project); design and construction; and an early assessment of the success of the Towers in New York City's streetscape. Illustrated with B&W photos and drawings. A clean, unmarked and firmly bound copy. Pages and slate blue endpapers clean and fine. Hardcover, pictorial gloss laminated printed paper over boards with photo of the Towers, the Statue of Liberty in the foreground. Cover is clean though lightly shelf-rubbed with a few tiny rubs, scratches to surface. Cover edges moderately rubbed; corner tips and spine ends bumped with some white show-through. Binding and hinges intact; boards and spine straight. No dust jacket. 8-3/4 x 11-1/4"; 64 pages. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Slim 4o.
