Description:
Newtown, PA: [Bird & Bull Press], 1978. Softcover. Very Good. Softcover. Number 1 of 400 copies. This is a tongue in cheek book from the Bird & Bull Press purporting to be a publication of the San Serriffe Publishing Company offering a collection of ten contemporary San Serriffean marbled papers showing the lowest level of technique, the worst combinations of colors, and the most inferior execution known since the dawn of the art of marbling. The examples were "collected by the author during a five year expedition to the Republic of San Serriffe." It should be noted that the collected marbled papers are indeed terrible. Bound in blue paper covers with black titling to spine and a black insignia on the cover. The spine is faded and there is mottled black spot on the rear cover. Interior pages are very good or better. In addition to the text and paper samples, there is an amusing description for each of the papers included. Measures 7.25 x 10.5 inches. Unpaginated [about 55 pages] PRI/032624.
