Through the efforts of The UN mediator, Count Polka Brandt, ceasefire was negotiated and the parties agreed to a four-week truce, which was breached by the Arab countries. The State of Israel's loyalty to the United Nations is presented in the booklet through letters, declarations and testimonies submitted by the Israeli representatives to the General Assembly and to the UN Security Council. Among other things, the booklet includes letters from Moshe Sharet and statements and testimonies by Abba Even and Abba Hillel Silver. A damaged copy sold at auction in 2019 for $350 with commissions.
