Bristol (RI): Herreshoff Manufacturing, [1935. First edition. Copy No. 9685 presented to James C. Sawyer. Folio. 53, [1] pp. Profusely illustrated throughout and with seven full page color plates of Herreshoff yachts. Publisher's decorative blue boards with raised gilt lettering. Mild sunning and light abrasion to spine but still a very good copy.Laid into this copy are two original though blank forms for the ordering of two of the firm's most successful sailboats; The Marlin and the Seafarer. James C. Sawyer was the First Curator of the Ship Model Collection of the Addison Gallery of American Art.With another copy of the same book (#627) and a copy of the 1974 edition in dust jack of Herreshoff's "The Common Sense of Yacht Design." Two volumes in one.
