Folio; Binding Copy; Entirely Disbound, with backstrip entirely gone and boards present; front board with most of the gilt yacht present, both boards with severe wear; text block with some tattering, tide-marks, staining; 42 half-tone portrait plates of club officers, many more smaller half-tone portraits in the text, and over 500 in-text wood-engraved illustrations throughout.; scarce; See all five images for details.

NOTE: Shelved in Netdesk office, in bookcase next to Ephemera section. Prized especially for its 98 toned plates of yachts by Frederiksen, Bruce, Bolles, Stebbins, and Johnson, this is a source book for American yachting up to the turn of the century. "Histories of individual American yacht clubs, drawings of important or typical yachts, photographs and brief biographies of American yachtsmen... For each club data is provided on members, boats, regattas and rules." Because of its massive format, the book is usually found in a broken binding or split into two volumes, and when split into two the second is usually missing.;
