The book was designed with covers wider and taller than the text block which have folded in with time. The spine edges are also rubbed. "The substance of this little volume was delivered as the address at the annual meeting of the Vermont Historical Society at the sesquicentennial year of Vermont's statehood" 91 pages beginning with the poem, Yankee Prelude, by Margaret and Walter Hard.
