Complete with 7 chromolithographic plates, two-color plates (charts), 9 lithographic plates of mushrooms, numerous black and white plates, in-text black and white illustrations, 792 pp, index, 9 1/4 x 6 inches, blue cloth-covered boards (hardbound). Small chip to cloth at head of spine and along lower fore-edge of front board, but overall in very good condition with plates in very good, clean condition. This series issued by the U.S. Government is notable for the beautiful color lithographs with which they were illustrated. Includes sections on Education for the Farmer, Birds That Injure Grain, Fruit Industry, Hybrids and Their Utilization in Plant Breeding, Rainfall of the Crop Season, etc. With color plates of fruits, flower and mushrooms: grapes, prunes, figs, olives, almonds, hybrid carnation and algaric (fungi). .
