First opened in 1890, Yosemite has long been one of the most visited parks in the United States much in part to the incredible landscapes, mountains, and rock formations. This handbook contains descriptions of plant and wildlife, maps, and seasonal expectation throughout the park as it was before the National Park was established. Worth noting, this book contains a section on the 'big trees' – their discovery, the redwood forests, and their scientific importance.

Written sometime in the 3rd or 4th-century, this work tells the story and history of the development of Ethiopia through the lens of an ancient Greek romance novel. It is also believed that that Torquato Tasso took significant liberties from 'Aethiopica' and used them in his famous book 'Jerusalem Delivered'.

Dark green cloth covers with black and gilt stamped lettering/decoration. All edges are gilded. Covers show a few light and small scuffs, as well as light wear at spine ends and corners. Penciled presentation inscription on blank front fly leaf from C. G. Hooker. Frontispiece folding map has been a little misfolded, with the outer margin showing edge wear (not affecting map). From the estate of my great-great grandfather.Includes many unique poems and recitations such as "To a skull", "Uncle Daniel's Introduction to a Mississippi Steamer", "The Leak in the Dyke", etc. More well-known poetry includes "Song of Birds", "Old Ironsides", and "Bannock Burn" by Robbie Burns. Light rubbing and bumps to outside spine edges. Back cover and interior cloth covered board has a stain at top. Original owner's name and address from 1908, but no other writing or marks. First 2 pages have a stain at top, but text of 192 pages of poetry and recitations is totally clean with light tanning of pages.
