New York: The American Tract Society. Hardcover. Very Good. 16mo. 231 pages. Hardcover bound in original dark brown publisher's cloth with cover designs embossed in blind and with spine title and design in gilt. Light wear to the binding. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Early owner's signature on the front flyleaf of John P. Cushman. No copyright date, but this was printed circa 1840s-1850s. The owner / signer might be John P. Cushman (1784-1848) the American lawyer and politician from New York, or it may be his son. We have several other books from the Cushman family.

Pages Past is a small used & rare bookshop located a few blocks from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Since 1996 we have been serving the Triad community as well as customers from around the world. We have around 15-20,000 volumes in our shop. We specialize in North Carolina, Virginia, Civil War, Old Leather, Christianity, Eastern and Western Philosophies, and the simply unusual. We very likely have the oldest books in Greensboro; we keep a nice selection of antiquarian volumes and scholarly books.
