This book was received at my address on Oct/7/2011 in a very good condition, shipped from Better World Books, one of Biblio's sellers. I could manage to refurbish it to an almost new condition. It is indeed an updated and expanded 3rd edition of the book, relative to its predecessors 1st and 2nd edition. The author is remarkably aware of the importance of this book and its revisions.

This is the 4th edition of this book, and by far the most complete revision I have ever seen. It is made into the best form possible in this edition. It is a difficult yet rewarding book to realize. An essential in the introductory textbooks of chemistry.

This is either the 2nd or the 3rd edition of the book. Both editions are excellent review of the history of modern physics and chemistry. It treats the subject within a fundamental viewpoint, treating the subject in an understandable way to the student and the professional. One of the most remarkable achievements in such books, as it has been the result of the previous literature on this subject matter.

This is a standard on the subject in its history and development. It is studied along with the standard textbook on American Government which treats the in its organization. Peter Woll's revision is not much different than its previous editions.

I believe at its 5th edition, this book has reached to its best form. Later editions are not needed.

This is a classic in ancient history. Herodotus is commonly known as the father of history. This Penguin Classics has the best supplementary material I have seen among the various editions of this book by the same publisher or others. If bought from Penguin Classics, this edition is the only one to look for. Other than that, the recent Oxford World's Classics edition translated by Robin Waterfield is more complete in its supplementary material, yet needs more time to be explored.

This is the 3rd edition of the book, 1976. It is revised to some extent than its 2nd edition. It treats the subject in a profound manner by detailed analysis and explanation of the concepts using only algebra. It explains rather than treating the subject rigorously. It is written over its parent book "Matter Earth and Sky", published some 20 years prior to this 3rd edition by the author. George Gamow's books are well known among physicists to give the most profound insight into the subject.

This was the 1st edition of the book, 1965. There are later prints for as late as 1967. At the first edition it was the perfect introduction to chemistry book. The 2nd and 3rd editions of 1970 and 1975 are even better. The book is from a fundamental approach, covering theories to a good detail, along with the correct approach to treat and solve problems. It is a classic among such textbooks.

One of the best books on the history and development of atomic physics and quantum mechanics. A profound overview and extension of the previous writings about the subject. A fully developed textbook on the subject based on the study of the previous literature throughout the subject.

This book was a revision to "Matter, Earth, and Sky", which was an overview and introduction to physics. The author, together with another author by the name of Cleveland, made the book into an introduction to physics. It is an indepth look at the subject, giving insight on many concepts not found in other textbooks on physics.

A sophisticated analysis on modern physics and quantum mechanincs. Possibly the most famous book on the subject. This book is the 2nd revised edition, and it is wonderful of the author Fritjof Capra to have been able to accomplish this revision.

It is the best book by far on Calculus. The standard was set in 1981, and it reached to this 3rd edition of 1989.

This book is a modification of the original publication in the 1960s. It is modified too far to lose its originality. It does not make sense the same as before.
