A & C Black, 1921. Hardback (No Dust Wrapper.). Poor. A binding copy only. Boards are rubbed, discoloured, frayed at the margins with the pasted on title part missing. Spine strip detached but included. Light spotting to the text leaves, plates bright and clean. Shaken and now quite fragile. All colour [16] and black & white [15] plates present but the plate at page 71 is now detached but included. Some light creasing to a couple of the plates but overall a copy worth saving. . First edition (first printing). Hardback. A very scarce children`s classic by Ida Outhwaite (1888-1960) & her husband Grenbry Outhwaite both from Australia, full of wonderful & charming coloured & black & white plates of fairies, the little people & Goblins etc. some foxing through out as is usually found in this edition , the book has been sumptuously rebound in dark blue morocco leather with raised bands gilt lines, emblems between, title and the date , boards with striking matching dark blue marbled papers and the original paper label laid on. Original endpapers with fairys in brown sepia retained , "This very scarce book looks stunning" . First Edition. Hard Back Morocco Leather. Very Good.
