This set belonged to Esther Pauline Wilson, as indicated by the Patrons' Edition sheet bound in at the beginning of the first volume. Light stains to several jackets and boards of a couple volumes, transfer to jacket spines of two volumes, chips from jacket spines of three volumes, lightly toned. 1923 Hard Cover. Complete in twelve hardcover volumes. 8vo. A collection of works by the famous Irish author, with supplemental material contributed by such authors as William Butler Yeats, Padraic Colum, John Drinkwater, and Walter Pater. Wilde was a humorist, and center of a fair amount of controversy (he was found guilty of 'gross indecency' after being charged with committing sodomy, and subsequently imprisoned).
