Description:
Raleigh: Edwards & Broughton Printing Company, 1914. First Edition. Hardcover. Good +. Large octavo, 594pp. A good or better copy in the publisher's green cloth with dark brown morocco spine. Spine repaired at the crown, and repairs to front free endpaper and title page, all professionally done. Large, but faint dampstain/tidemark affects about 2/3 of the page block. While notable, it's not obscene or disfiguring. A sturdy, sound copy of this heavy tome, designed to fall apart. Attractive bookplate on the front paste-down. A dense and well-researched history of this region of North Carolina. Howes S859; Thornton 13202.
