About This Item

London,: T. Werner Laurie Ltd,. Very Good+ with no dust jacket. 1924. 1st Signed Limited Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. SIGNED, LIMITED EDITION 138/1000. Bound in full blue textured cloth, the spine has bright gilt titling, and the front cover has bright gilt titling a gilt logo and a broad rule around the front cover. Covers are VERY Clean, Tight and Bright. Top edge gilt. Light tan foxing to half of the page fore-edges - the text pages only. Internally Signed by the Author on the limitation page but No other inscriptions. 1 tissue guarded/captioned, tipped in, full colour frontispiece + (xii) + 84 pages of text (all the text pages have some pale lemon foxing spots/patching - quite a lot to the first few and last few pages, but mainly only the odd spot to the bulk of the text. The text is followed by 127 plates in colour and half-tone - the colour plates tissue guarded/captioned. (128 all together) Overall, apart from the light foxing as noted above, this is an EXCELLENT Very Clean, unmarked copy. Sadly the type of paper used for the text pages is very prone to foxing and is found in all the copies I have ever seen. "This is Chatterton's sequel to his "Sailing Ship Models", where this book gives the history of the development of the steamship, by looking at steamship models and the impact of steam on the maritime world." . Overall, with the proviso if the foxing, this is a lovely copy. This book is overweight @ well over 2 kilos un-packaged, and will require extra postage for International buyers depending on your location. See Images ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; Signed by Author .
