'An illustrated vocabulary of terms which designate American railway signals, their parts, attachments, and details of construction, with descriptions of methods of operation and some illustrations of British signals and practice'. Second edition revised by A. D. Cloud and H. H. Simmons. Black boards with gilt on the front cover and spine. Filled with lots of charts, diagrams, stats, and B&W pictures. ; Minor wear to the boards, just the usual rubbing to the edges. Gilt is still bright and easily seen. All the pages are clean and free of tears or marks. The only marking in the book is a stamp on the front paste down and the title page that says "This is the latest edition of this book." in purple ink and a previous owners name on the back side of the last page of advertisements. Front hinge has a small portion that is starting to tear a little, but it does not affect the integrity of the binding yet. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 526 p. .

Harry Bingham (1821-1900) was a lawyer and a long-serving member of the New Hampshire legislature where he was known a talented debater. Many of his speeches (including this one) were published, and this volume is among his better known speeches. Bingham was also the chief counsel for the Concord (New Hampshire) Railroad System. The book is an 8vo size clothbound hardcover with leather spine. Leather spine extends about an inch over black cloth. 26 numbered toned pages followed by large section of blank pages.
