New York: Book Supply Company, 1945. Cloth. Good/Good. A presentable copy of the 1945 stated 3rd edition of this new novel ("based in part on Nazi activity in Black America") by African-American author and filmmaker Oscar Micheaux. G+ in its bright red cloth (with former owner inscriptions at the half-title and rear pastedown) in a crisp, G+ dustjacket, with soiling to the panels and notable chipping at the tips, spine crown and panel top-edges. Description:
New York: Book Supply Company, 1944. Hardcover. Fine/Good. First edition. Fine in a wrinkled and partially torn good dust jacket, which is however mostly intact, and is housed in the original cardboard mailer, addressed by the publisher to an airman, Purvis Stokes, at the Naval Air Station at Corpus Christi. The mailer is well-worn, but sound. Novel by an African-American film pioneer who often wrote novels as material for the films he would later create. This title is very scarce in the first edition and in jacket, and we've never seen another example of the mailer.
