Brown boards with a black silhouette of an Arabian horse. Limited edition, number 526/1000. The signed bookplate which usually accompanies this edition is curiously absent (no evidence of removal). Tipped in color frontis illustration of a horse. In a black and white jacket. 148pp. Mounted full color frontis, foldout map at rear, over 150 photos. One of the enduring works by this scholar who spent more than 35 years researching Arabian horses. Jacket front flap is nearly detached but held in place with Brodart jacket. Chipping to extremities.

Signed by the author in Arabic and English on a tipped in bookplate. xii, 148 pages, illustrations and with an introduction by Jane Llewellyn Ott. The Second Edition has added a 12 page introduction by Jane Llewellyn Ott (who is best known for her Blue Arabian Horse Book). This is the best edition for those who wish to know what Jane Ott wrote in conjunction with Carl Raswan. Includes the fold-out pages of Carl Raswan's "How the various strains and substrains of Arabian Horses are related to each other". The frontispiece is an image of Ott's painting of Fa Serr of the Babson Arabian Farm tipped in. Bound in tan pictorial cloth depicting a horse's head in blue, lettering tan, spine lettering blue. A very good copy.
