The Brockbank Omnibus by Brockbank, Russell - 1957

Perpetua Books, London, 1957. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/Fair. Illustrator: Russell Brockbank. acknowledgement. Yellow coloured endpapers. The text is illustrated with black-and-white cartoons by Russell Brockbank. Black coloured cloth covered boards with gilt embossed coloured illustration to the lower edge of the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper (wraparound) white coloured titles to the front panel and black and white coloured titles to the back strip. A collection of Russell Brockbank cartoons, certainly motoring and flying pursuits are well represented, but also just the general English scene is also present.  Softening with rubbing to the back strip edges and rubbing of the book corners. Light browning of the text block edges and pages with offset tanning to the endpapers. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right hand corner of the front paste-down. Some marks on stains to the book panels. Chipping, with loss, to the dustwrapper corners and back strip. There is a large piece missing from the top edge of the rear panel, measuring 5" x .75" – please see photograph. Some small tears to the top dustwrapper edge with heavy rubbing of the dustwrapper creases and lighter rubbing of the panels. Some tears to the back strip corners and sunning to the back strip is also present. Some stains to the verso of the dustwrapper.  Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. [10], 11 - 118, [2] pages,.
