New York: American Friends of the Middle East, Inc, 1954. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo. Pp. 45. Includes a couple black & white photographs on glossy paper. One of five hundred of a special autographed edition; not numbered. Includes facsimile on glossy paper of letters received by the author from Franklin D. Roosevelt and Admiral William D. Leahy. Bound in dark green paper-covered boards with silver lettering stamped on cover & spine. Signed by the author on title page. Inscribed on endpaper by Mary G. Eddy to Dr & Mrs Philip Sauntry; Dr Sauntry served as Northwest Hospital's Chief of Surgery. The meeting between Saud and Roosevelt, on the U.S. Naval ship the USS Quincy in the Suez Canal, was the first time the King had left Saudi Arabia. William A. Eddy (1896-1962) acted as interpreter. Eddy's greatest contribution to WWII was his involvement in "Operation Torch," the Allies invasion of French North Africa.
