London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1942. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. Publisher's light blue cloth with black lettering to the front board and spine. There is minor mottling to the front board (a common fault with this title) and a contemporary Xmas gift inscription on the front end-paper, otherwise a nice and bright copy. In the dust wrapper that is priced 5/- net to the inside flap as called for. The dust wrapper (front cover and flap) measure 8 ½ inches as called for. The D/W has been neatened with some skilful restoration to the top edge, the result of which is a bright copy with colours vibrant and bold. Most importantly the red spine lettering is entirely unfaded (scarce thus). Photographs/scans available upon request.
