Herbert travelled in the eastern U.S. and Canada until his money ran out, and returned to New York, where he taught classics at a prep school for Columbia, and became a prolific contributor to American periodicals. He wrote historical novels ... Read more

Dune

Herbert, Frank

Chilton Book Company, 1965-01-01. Hardcover . LikeNew/Fine. Full red cloth boards, DJ price $10.95, ISBN printed below DJ price and on rear cover; number line reads "8 9 0 4 3 2 1 0"; in my own hand is "[1972]" written in pencil to the front endpaper, which would indicate that at some point I thought I was smart enough to figure out that was the printing date. Signed & lined on title page, inscribed "To Kirk". This came with a few items signed by SF artist Tim Kirk, but I have no way of knowing if a)., he goes by Kirk and b)., it is inscribed to him. Very minor rubbing to white map at rear panel, very light shelfwear. Main flaw is a few spots of foxing to top foredge. Near fine to fine overall. Herbert's signature on our website page of signatures is taken from this book, and matches all previous signatures we have handled.

Children of Dune

Frank Herbert

First Edition with no mention of subsequent printings (First printing); FLAT SIGNED by the author on the front free end paper. A very good plus book in a very good plus dust jacket. A handsome copy of this novel which is the 3rd in the Dune saga, extremely scarce in the first impression in collectible condition, particularly signed. This very good book is clean and bright with white pages and bright spine lettering but does show some minor shelf wear to the spine ends and a slight looseness to the binding (it's been read a couple times, no loss of integrity to the binding). Housed in a VG dust jacket that shows some mild rubbing and chipping to the spine ends, edges, and corners, and a small closed tear to the top edge of the front panel. Overall, a nice copy that would grade near fine in some circles, this is a lovely collectible copy. Not remaindered, not price clipped, not ex-library; in archival protection.
