Red cloth lettered in gold at the spine and with a blind-stamped border to the upper board. Some marking, soiling and light discolouration to the cloth. The top edge dust soiled, and the edges spotted with some browning to the free endpapers and some spotting to occasional leaf margins. A good if slightly dusty copy. No dust wrapper. The author's first crime novel or more correctly a legal drama - apparently the first of any note - bar the final scene, all set chambers of the presiding magistrate.
