The very scarce, oversized (11" tall) Uncorrected Proof of Kennedy's first book. "Uncorrected Galleys" is printed on both the front cover and title page. A pencil date of 9/30/69 has been crossed out with 10/10/69 written in pencil below it, obviously referring to publication date.

An Albany set story about a band of newspaper strikers in the 1960's. 278 pp. Book was originally published by Dial in 1969 and remained obscure until Kennedy won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction for Ironweed (which ironically had been rejected 13 times!.) At that point, The Ink Truck was republished by Viking Penquin. Introduction to this edition by author. Book has cream coloured cloth spine with black and blue text, and light blue paper covered boards. Spine ends are lightly rubbed, there is a black magic marker 'R' on front pastedown and 1 1/2" X 1/16" crease at top front corner.
