Two-page Foreword by Leonard Woolf. Pages lightly tanned. Tail of spine slightly pushed. Very good indeed in very good, slightly chipped and marked dustwrapper, designed by Vanessa Bell, with short tears at head and tail of spine. These tears have at some point been inadvisedly ''repaired'' on the reverse by the use of tape which has left visible marks on the exterior of the dustwrapper.

A very good book (one small owner's name and date to fep and evidence of a previously pasted review to the rear end paper) - pages tanned due to the poor quality Wartime paper - but a nice example. In a very good+ unclipped wrapper with some light loss to the top and tail of the slightly browned spine and a little to corners. Unclipped. A lovely copy of a title which usually loses the spine of the dust wrapper.

The Bloomsbury Heritage Series No. 26. Asham House in East Sussex was the country retreat for the Woolfs from 1912 to 1919. Standing hidden from the road, it played host to some of the most influential writers, artists and intellectuals of the time, and was the setting for Virginia Woolf's short story, "A Haunted House."
