A really cute Florida Promotion/Tourist piece from the mid 1920's to the mid 1930's. This one is the Fourth Edition-1933 and has a little wear: split from the lower staple to the heel of the spine, theres some additional white paper glued(?) to the back cover. There is also a line of script on the front free endpaper:"From Mother and Daddy 1933." The interior is clean and the pages are white, no marking or writing. Quite a few illustrations, 53 pages in all. If you collect early Florida travel promotion info-- this is a very cute pamphlet. I can pop it in the mail to you tomorrow. BAST

New York NY: John H. Eggers, 1924. Soft cover. Very Good. 64mo - up to 3" tall. VG/1924. This is an adorable 6 page children's story with an advertising Se-fly-go insecticide from the Selig Co. of Atlanta Georgia. The colors are bright and very typical for the 1920's. Illustrations on every page. This stands about 2 1/2 inches, which entitles it to miniature book status. The one staple is a little rusty, but is holding on very firmly. Not a spotless copy, but remarkably clean. This may be a first; I haven't found anything other than the copyright date-1924. This is one booklet of a series about Dot and 'Don. New York, New York: Larkin Co. Pure Food Specialists, 1913. Twelfth Edition, 1913. . Soft cover. Good+. G+/12 ed.-1913. The Larkin Company was established in 1875, and was printing these little promotional cookbooks since 1905. This copy is fairly clean, with a well attached cloth wrap which has a couple of insect chewed places on the back cover. The cloth cover is attached over staples, which have rusted through the cloth. And the last few pages have suspicious chunks missing from the bottom of the pages. However, for basic recipes for homemade puddings, ice cream, cakes, jellies canning and preserving, candies, and breads, it would be hard to find one any better. These are basic economical recipes, with everyday ingredients. 80 pages with a table setting section, times for roasting meat and poultry, cooking processes and terms. St. Marys, Georgia: St. Marys Bicentennial Committee, 1987. Reprint 1978. . Soft cover. Very Good+/None Issued. VG+/reprint- In 1935 Roy Crane, the creator of the comic strip WASH TUBBS, visited St. Marys Georgia. Several months after his visit his series that was distributed by a national syndicate began featuring St. Marys. Many of the landmarks and some of the people of the time were easily identified. Among those that are still intact are the Riverview Hotel, Orange Hall, Oak Grove Emetery and Sterling's Grocery. The publication of this booklet is one of the official items of celebration commissioned by the St. Marys Bicentennial Committee. The booklet contains 47 short comic strips over 10 pages with the first page and the last page saved for local St. Marys history. NF/later Printing (1997) Clean, very close to new, coloring book that illustrates both Union and Confederate uniforms(and/or lack of uniforms) in different areas where the Civil War was fought. Uniforms such as : Fifth New York Volunteer Infantry(Duryea's Zouaves) compared to Zouave of the Louisiana Tiger Battalion. Sailors, drummers, and sailors are also illustrated. Colors of uniforms are part of the author's information printed on each page, with some brief history. Nothing has been colored in, no markings or soiling of any kind. Very light wear to cover edges. Atlanta Georgia: Georgia Trust for Historic Preservattion, 1978. First Edition. . Soft cover. Near Fine. NF/1st ed. This nineteen page pamphlet highlights some of the industrial sites around the state of Georgia that the Georgia Trust considered important to preserve, and if not preserve, document. Along with industrial factories, other types of site have been incorporated such as several pre-railroad canals located in different parts of Georgia, a turpentine still, North Fork Trestle or Well's Viaduct and even Fort Pulaski. A good start to Georgia industrial history. Pamphlet is clean, complete, secure in cover. No markings with the exception of the entry about McCranie's Turpentine Still, which has been neatly highlighted in yellow, but no print is obscured. Each entry is accompanied by a b&w photo. The rear bottom corner has a crease but is all there. The magazine's spine has a little rubbing, and has worn away at the bottom of the spine. that's the biggest flaw. The interior is clean and bright, no foxing, and all pages are present. Loads of advertisments and boat plans. 80 pages, all illustrations are in black and white.
