n.p.: n.p., 1944. Fine.. Wonderfully detailed finished pencil drawing by Tenggren that appears (in reduced size) on page 87 of TENGGREN'S STORY BOOK (1944). Pictured is the emperor as child, seated at a table and contemplating an egg. Because the child cut his finger while breaking an egg, his father declared that thereafter, all eggs had to be opened at the smaller end, beginning a rebellion and a war with the empire of Blefuscu. The son is drawn very much like one of the dwarves in Snow White. A great image. 5.5'' x 6'' (image); 15'' x 15'' (frame). Single sheet, matted and framed. Not examined outside frame.
