Description:
London: Mark Perry 1976-1977, 1976. First Editions. Quartos. Mimeograph stapled zines. A complete set of the most influential punk zine of its time, edited and published by Mark Perry, co-founded by Danny Baker. The flexi-disc included with vol. 12 is present, as are the two, very rare, supplements, 'The 100 Club Issue' and 'Sniffin' Snow'. Originally conceived after Perry read an article which slammed his favourite band, The Ramones, for all the reasons he felt made them great. The fanzine was thus created to redress the balance in music journalism, and its name derived from the famous Ramones song "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue." The first issue was published July 13, 1976 with a print run of 50. It featured a hand-drawn/written cover. In the zine history books, Sniffin' Glue will go down as the first pioneering punk zine that launched a thousand other zines, as well as firmly cementing zine publishing as part of the DIY punk ethic. Within the space of three… Read more

Taschen, 2014. Numbered. Hardcover . Very Good. The definitive, authorized illustrated history of the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band The kind of fame and success The Rolling Stones have achieved in their 50-years and counting career is without parallel; their most famous riffs and catchiest lyrics are indelibly engraved in our collective memory. Description:
Blue Valentine was recorded in June and July of 1978, and was released in September with cover photographs of Waits and the soon-to-be-famous Jones, who was referred to as "the mysterious blonde," and a photograph of Chuck E. Weiss - the soon-to-be-famous subject of Jones's hit "Chuck E's In Love" - on the inner sleeve. Waits, who was living at the notorious Tropicana Motel in LA at the time, met Jones at the Troubadour in 1977, and the two singer-songwriters began a relationship that lasted almost two years, becoming the stuff of rock and roll legend - a legend both artists have refused to nurture. Jones' eponymous debut album was released in March 1979, and in the summer Jones went on tour in America and Europe with Waits accompanying her. Waits, however, was at a low point in his career - Blue Valentine, like his previous albums, had met with only limited success, and he was disillusioned with the entire music business, while Jones had achieved almost instant… Read more

Housed in a purpose made chemise and black cloth slipcase with leather label to the spine, ruled and lettered in gilt. ---------- Sniffin' Glue, the first punk fanzine, was produced by Mark Perry in July 1976 a few days after seeing US punk band The Ramones for the first time at the Roundhouse in London. Description:
1966. Original pressing of one of the greatest albums of all-time. Boldly signed by Bob Dylan on the front panel. The cover photograph of Blonde on Blonde shows a 12-by-12 inch close-up portrait of Dylan. The double album gatefold sleeve opens to form a 12-by-26 inch photo of the artist, at three quarter length. The artist's name and the album's title only appear on the spine. A sticker was applied to the shrink wrap to promote the release's two hit singles, "I Want You" and "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35". The cover shows Dylan in front of a brick building, wearing a suede jacket and a black and white checkered scarf. The jacket is the same one he wore on his next two albums, John Wesley Harding and Nashville Skyline. In near fine condition. Blonde on Blonde completed the trilogy of rock albums that Dylan recorded in 1965 and 1966, starting with Bringing It All Back Home and Highway 61 Revisited. Critics often rank Blonde on Blonde as one of the greatest albums of all time. Combining the expertise of… Read more

San Francisco, 1976. Unbound. Near Fine. A small archive of three printing plates, three maquettes, three posters, and a 7" record sleeve made for the San Francisco punk band, Crime. All items are near fine with some modest chips, tears, and some waviness. Beginning in 1976, Crime, made up of "Johnny Strike" (vocals, guitar), Frankie Fix (vocals, guitar), Ron "The Ripper" Greco (bass; ex-Flamin' Groovies), and Chris Cat (drums), who was rapidly replaced by Ricky Tractor (Ricky Williams)," released the "first single by a U.S. punk act from the West Coast." It was a self-funded 45 with the tracks "Hot Wire My Heart" and "Baby You're So Repulsive," the sleeve for which is present here. Strike said of the record, "we saw it as the first 'something'. What, we weren't quite sure. We knew it was unique, especially when some hippie KSAN DJ said on the air that it was the worst record that he'd ever heard." A… Read more

1969. Lupus Music, 1969. 8vo. Original decorative paper-covered boards, with dustwrapper; pp. 63; slightly rubbed to extremities, internally very clean and bright, very good. Provenance: ffep inscribed by Marc Bolan "Deepest love/ Marc Bolan/ x", with ownership signature of Jeannette Montgomery above. First edition. Scarce signed. Heavily inspired by Tolkien, this book of poetry was issued before Bolan hit international superstardom with T. Rex. Nevertheless, he was a big enough domestic star to sell 40,000 copies of this book, which was quickly reprinted and became Britain's biggest selling volume of poetry of the year. There is a nod to his band in the very last lines of the last poem in the book : "And now where once stood solid water/ stood the reptile king,/ Tyrannosaurus Rex, reborn and bopping". This may be the first time a dinosaur has ever been described in such rock'n'roll terms.
