one of the top books of the whitman series in our opinion. As with most wartime books, the pages are browning, but for the most part it is in very good shape. vg+/vg

VG+ / G- reilly & lee circa 1947. last title listed on rear flap is the Shaggy Man of Oz. sizable chip missing from top of dj spine across the back cover (see photos). otherwise nice.

VG / VG knopf 1948. first edition. the 15th volume in the Freddy the Pig series. This is a first edition book in a later edition jacket (possibly 4th or 5th printing?). Regardless, the jacket was printed in the 1950's.

VG / G- knopf 1956. first edition. the 24th volume of the vaunted Freddy the Pig series by Walter R. Brooks. The book is solid. the jacket, though it presents nicely enough, is just hanging in there. At some point in its life, it provided lunch for some hungry insects. A previous owner also checked off all the titles on the back cover.

VG+ / VG+ houghton mifflin 1946. first edition. hardcover. striking illustrations by Helen Blair.

VG+ / Fair morrow 1946. first edition. Fellow children's book author Howard Pease cited Tunis in an essay as one of the small handful of contemporary (circa: 1945) writers of children's fiction worthy of being on library shelves. The dust jacket is worn and chipped along the spine. It is unclipped, however, and for the most part, intact.

book suffers from typical browning pages. DJ is stained in upper right corner, but o/w intact. VG/G
