This particular copy has 19th century annotations in pencil indicating the prices of the respective machine models and an address in Bristol, CT (possibly where the machinery might be purchased). The size is 7 ½ x 9 ½" which opens to double size with twelve month calendars at bottom and twelve illustrations at tops. Printed for "The Beach Shop" and "The Beach Market" in Sarasota, Florida. Twelve "American Beauties" created by Siesta Key Artist Gil Elvgren. The themed beauties include a cowgirl, Gillette Elvgren (1914 1980) was an American painter of pin-up girls, advertising and illustration. Best known for his pin-up paintings for Brown & Bigelow, Elvgren studied at the American Academy of Art. He was strongly influenced by the early "pretty girl" illustrators, such as Charles Dana Gibson, Andrew Loomis, and Howard Chandler Christy. Other influences included the Brandywine School founded by Howard Pyle. .
