Endpaper has small tear. Chip to bottom corner of second page of facsimile letter. Major John Richardson (1796 – 1852) was a British Army officer and the first Canadian-born novelist to achieve international recognition. He knew both Tecumseh and General Isaac Brock; their personalities marked his imagination so that he later used them as characters in his novel "The Canadian Brothers." The editor, Casselman, signed this book for Henry John Cody, Ontario Minister of Education 1918-1919.
