New Jersey: Original, 1782. Original Letter. Very Good. 8 1/2 X 13 1/4 Inches. Autograph Letter Signed. Handwritten letter from Jonathan Dayton, signer of the U.S. Constitution and namesake of Dayton, Ohio, to his father, Col. Elias Dayton. Elias would later be promoted to Brig. General by Washington. Jonathan Dayton was arrested in 1807 for treason in connection with Aaron Burr's conspiracy; he was never tried, but the arrest ended his political career. Important letter from Samuel Huntington, signer of the Declaration of Independence and Governor of Connecticut. In part: "I am this day honore'd with your letter of the 29th Ulto.by Capt. Robert Barry; & agreeably to your desire to have restored to him the Brig. Nancy with all the Appurtenances & Cargo that were found on board at the time she was taken into Custody by (the) Government. / With Great Respect, / I am your humble Servant / S... H..."<br /> <br /> This "copy" made in the hand of Samuel Huntington as Governor of Connecticut. Dated September 3, 1793, this letter is an important handwritten record from the close of the Citizen Genet Affair. Very Good. 8X10 Inches. Beautiful B/W photograph signed by Pulitzer Prize winning author Dumas Malone. Malone is most famous for his six-volume biography of President Thomas Jefferson (Jefferson and his Time). He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1975 and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1983. A bit of wear at the corners.

On official "Chief of Staff - United States Air Force" stationery. Unfolded. <br /> <br /> In part: "One of the greatest gifts that a father can give to his sons is an appreciation for their heritage and the motivation to carry on the traditions that have made our nation great... you share a common responsibility with your fellow citizens -- the responsibility to preserve and protect our free and democratic way of life."<br /> <br /> General Charles Alvin Gabriel (1928 - 2003) was a noted pilot in Korea and Vietnam. He flew over 140 mission in Vietnam alone. He was the 11th Chief of Staff of the US Air Force and a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Fredericksburg, VA: Ronald Roy Seagrove, 1992. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 5 1/2 X 8 3/4 Inches. 237 PP. #2 of 1000 copies produced. This copy inscribed by Seagrove to noted Civil War autograph collector and dealer Jim Hayes (of Charleston, SC). Jim's autograph business is mentioned in the text and I can only imagine that Jim was more than a little help a he rated copy #2 of the run! While the prices don't hold up (obviously), the book is a great reference for the collector and/or researcher. Light scuffing to covers.

Nashville, TN: Original Document, 1789. Very Good. Very early ADS (Autograph Document Signed) "Andrew Jackson" penned as a young attorney, 1 PP, Legal Sized Folio [8 1/4 X 12 3/4 Inches]. Legal document in which George Suggs pledges himself bound to Samuel Hayes in the amount of five hundred pounds in exchange for a 640 acre tract of land along "the waters of Stones River." Letter dated January 5, 1789. At the time, Jackson was practicing law in a wilderness outpost that someday would become Nashville, TN. <br /> <br /> Seventh President of the United States, "Old Hickory" became a national hero in his defense of New Orleans and as President encouraged Western Expansion. Jackson was admitted to the Bar in North Carolina in 1787 at the age of 20. This document signed when Jackson was 22 years old. Document a bit weak at the folds with a bit of wear to edges. A very attractive and very early Jackson signed document.

Although most famous for being the man who sculpted the Darth Vader Helmut & Armor, based on the original illustrations by Ralph McQuarrie, Muir worked on Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Willow, Young Sherlock Holmes, The Princess Bride, Krull, Superman and many, many more. This is the man who carved the Ark of the Covenant, sculpted the beating heart in Temple of Doom and created the Cliffs of Insanity in The Princess Bride. The book was the basis for the 1957 film of the same name that starred Clark Gable, Yvonne De Carlo and Sidney Poitier. Southern love story during the American Civil War. These "William Jefferson Clinton Specimen Signature" documents were provided upon request for the express use of public relations to various news and government offices. Light toning.

Boston: Original, 1974. Original. Single Sheet. Very Good. 7 1/4 X 10 1/2 Inches. Original lengthy letter in the hand of Johnny "Mr. Red Sox" Pesky on official Red Sox stationery. Pesky batted a lifetime .307 average and was affiliated with the Red Sox is some form or fashion for over 60 years. He was a noted friend of Ted Williams and is the namesake of "Pesky's Pole" at Fenway. Here Pesky writes to friends (Howard and Ella) in Oregon to tell them that he is "...working for the Red Sox as one of the T.V. team - but still miss the activity of the field. I help out in Spring Training which I like to do best." Full page and a quarter ALS. Fold marks from mailing, otherwise fine condition.

On Leigh's personal "Broadway Theatre, New York" stationery. Signed in ink by Vivien Leigh. In part: "Thank you... for sending me the resume of your thesis on the death of Falstaff... With every good wish. Yours sincerely, Vivien Leigh..."Unobtrusive horizontal fold. <br /> <br /> Vivian Leigh (1913-1967) was a two-time Academy Award Winner. The first was for her starring role as "Southern Belle" Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind and the second was for her Blanche DuBois in "A Streetcar Named Desire."
