Description:
Hartford, Conn: Coleco Industries, Inc, 1977. Ephemera. Single Sheet. Very Good +. 8 1/2 X 11 Inches. Original single-sheet folder with insert. Original 1977 advertising brochure (with the Testar Arcade Insert) for the Telstar Combat, Ranger, Galazy, Ranger Colormatic, Gemini, Colormatic, Regent and Alpha game systems. Originally introduced in 1976, the Telstar system hit it's stride in '77 with the addition of games that stepped beyond the simple "Pong" based earlier offerings. The Arcade system (the insert) advertised here was one one of the first systems in the world to offer cartridges that would allow for more than just a few built-in games. The addition of color set the systems apart as well. Coleco might be better known for their later Cabbage Patch Kids, but the Telstar systems should not be overlooked. A serious stepping stone in the video gaming industry. Vibrant original colors.

Description:
Reston, VA: Reston Publishing Co, 1983. First Edition. Original wraps. Very Good. 6 X 8 3/4 Inches. 229 PP. Important early book on how to operate your Atari 400 & 800 computers. This manual was one of the first to treat a home computer as a method of entertainment by offering instructions on moving images, making sounds and integrating a joystick. We particularly love this book as the cover art plays on the futuristic "space pilot" fun that Atari became known for in the early 80's. Light wear from use and a hint of a dampstain to edge of last few pages. SCARCE in commerce.

Description:
Hartford, Conn: Coleco Industries, Inc, 1978. First Edition, First Printing. Original wraps. Very Good +. 3 X 5 Inches. Folds out to an eight page advertisement. Includes the Telstar Marksman, Colortron and Arcade; all third year game systems. Coleco, originally a leather company entered the video-game business in 1976 with the introduction of the Coleco Telstar. The Telstar was based largely on the General Instrument's PONG games of the same era. Coleco became a video giant in the early 80's, but faded from the scence by the end of the decade. Most certainly a very rare ephemeral treasure from the genesis of the home video system era.
