Description:
Chicago: RLD Communications, 1985. First Edition, First Printing. Original wraps. Very Good. 8 1/8 X 10 7/8 Inches. 74 PP. "It'll never be as entertaining for grown-ups as for thier kids."<br /> <br /> Scarce original August, 1985 issue of BoxOffice, the magazine of the motion picture industry. Largely produced for studio employees as well movie theater owners and staff, BoxOffice is the longest running magazine devoted to the stories behind film in America (having started production in 1920). Contents include coverage of the upcoming "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" as well as "Fright Night" starring Roddy McDowall. Contents also include reviews of Rambo: First Blood Part II, The Goonies and Cocoon. The review of The Goonies by Jimmy Summers is less than flattering I would say.<br /> <br /> "The Goonies is loads of good, mindless fun. But unlike "E.T.", "Star Wars" and the rest of its older brothers and sisters - movies… Read More

Description:
Portland, OR: New Oregon Publishers, 1984. First Edition, First Printing. Original wraps. Very Good. 8 3/8 X 10 7/8 Inches. 70 PP. Incredibly scarce Oregon Magazine from December, 1984. The one-page article "The Goonies Come to Town" on page 70 provided the world with the first glimpse of "The Goonies". Filming on the movie began in late October, 1984 and this article was published in December, 1984 - only two months after the first camera rolled in Astoria. The author admittedly has a hard time getting any information as Spielberg had deemed the filming in Astoria a "closed set" in an effort to stem this sort of intrusion. No real secrets were divulged, but knowing what we know now, this was the first talk of "The Goonie House", haystack rock at Ecola State Park and the Flavel House - three of the principal locations for anyone taking the Goonie quest. The original staple binding is intact, but quite tender. Minor creases and hints of wear at edges and… Read More
