Silver titles and a pictorial onlay of the Flopsy Bunnies to the front cover. Frontispiece and 26 illustrations in color by the author. Pictorial endpapers. 16mo in size with 85pp. First edition points (Beatrix Potter: A Bibliographical Checklist, by Jane Quinby): Dated to the foot of the title page.Plate VII endpapers. Page 14 has the Florists sign present with the correct wording. "Gardens Neatly Razed | Borders Devastated By | The Night Or Year". Page 81 no robin present. First edition, deluxe issue. 12mo. Brown moiré silk cloth with gilt stamped decoration and colour onlay to the upper cover. All edges gilt. A very good copy. Pictorial endpapers. Colour frontis and 26 colour plates by the author. These deluxe bindings were based on a design by Beatrix Potter and originally sold at 1/6- rather than the standard copies at 1/-. There is a slight tear at top of spine but is only superficial. These First Editions are incredibly rare and this one is protected by a mylar book cover. This was the prized collection of a collector and it is great luck it is for sale!
