Sterling condition softcover copy of a flashy promotional brochure, with unfurled tips, tight binding, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear. Raspberry-colored duotone photograph to front cover, staple-bound. Neither place of publication nor publisher listed, but the movie was released in 1930 by United Artists. Not paginated, but comprising 22 pp. printed on glossy card stock. Front cover photograph of two of the many stars, Jean Harlow and James Hall. Photographs also of the 22-year-old producer and director, Howard Hughes, and of innumerable war and flying scenes depicted in the film. Author's signature and dedication "To Edgar Dale" at front endpaper, dated March 20, 1939, a leading light in film studies many decades ago, born April 27, 1900 in Benson, Minnesota, who lived in Columbus, Ohio, and who died on March 8, 1985. Dale was "an American educator who developed the Cone of Experience. He made several contributions to audio and visual instruction, including a methodology for analyzing the content of motion pictures."
