n.p., 1886. 5.5x8.5 inch leaflet, printed both sides, creased and toned, with a long split along the vertical fold, going almost the length of the sheet. Calls on the reader to vote for prohibition. "The Knights of Labor are right in their declaration of principles, but they will never succeed while they themselves help divert according to actual revenue statistics, over $500,000,000 annually from commerce into the coffers of the distiller.

Vienna: Der Deutsche Vortrupp-Bund, [191-]. Poster. 12.5x16.5 inch poster, creased from having been folded into quarters, some uneven toning, otherwise very good. Text within the outline of a glass. Year "1914 or 15" penciled in upper left corner, but this could have been a previous owner's guess. In the context of the war, argues that the use of potatoes, grain, and fruit to brew alcoholic drinks is wasteful and can lead to malnutrition, removing food from people's tables and sabotaging the war effort. Contact information for various teetotaling organizations in Austria is provided near the bottom. The Vortrupp-Bund advocated abstinence from alcohol and tobacco even in peacetime, all the more so during the war.

Berkeley: Aaron Cometbus, 2000. Pamphlet. [78]p., text neatly hand-lettered with a wraparound cover drawn by Nate Powell (crowd scene at the Dead End Cafe, a collective eatery and caterers), professional-quality layout and trimming, an 8.5x5.5 inch zine. Nice clean copy. Interviews conducted and transcribed by the editor establish the seductions of living co-operatively and drinking a lot of beer. Foreword claims it as part of the series "case studies in cultural anthropology," but this appears to be photocopied from another, more serious, anthropology book as a joke. Published shortly before the zine's 2004-2006 hiatus (the last issue before the hiatus was No. 49).

Lacks the "series" dust jacket, unfortunately. Slight wear to extremities, a bright sound copy, clean and unmarked. The collected works of Aldous Huxley.

n.p.: Self-published by the author, 1972. Pamphlet. Five fullpage poems printed recto only on standard leaves, a homemade job of copyshop reproduction with skyblue endsheets stapled into a generic folder. Cover titling and titlepage are in Jack's holograph, no further information available (no limitation &c), but laid in are four more poems, short poems perhaps inspired by Jack's unselfcritical flow, each of these four bearing the name and the Butler University address in Indianapolis of one Tony Criscimagna. The item (sans Tony's stuff) was probably a catchpenny run up by Micheline to supplement drinking money.

Berkeley: Fernwell and Associates, 1995. Paperback. xiii, 79p., paperback, 5,5x8,5 inches, very good. Signed, inscribed, and dated on the title page by Dust. Only 3 copies found in OCLC as of May 2022. Stroud was a Bay Area-based Black poet and educator who passed away in 2008. He wrote this book over the course of three stays at the drug and alcohol rehabilitation program at Crutcher's Serenity House.
