Vie Italienne / Vita Italiana / Italy's Life / Leben in Italien. Revue Officielle de l' E.N.I.T. 1963 No 27 - Anno XIV

By Baggio, Elena, directeur

Bergamo: Instituto Italiano d' Arti Grafiche, 1963. Magazine. 134p., massive softbound journal in color wraps; profuse color, b&w and sepia exhibit photography on unglazed alkaline paperstock, 13.5x10 inches, a handsome big book with externals in rough condition, expect edgewear, corner-creasing and abrasions to spine panel. First leaf is detached, so far without damage, an otherwise sound copy, quite clean within and free of ownership or any other sort of marking. An impressive compilation, largely of Etruscan works and tombs: the pre-Roman dead were treated to a multiplicity of dance scenes.

Glenn Miller's Dance Folio. Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue. 15

By Miller, Glenn, compiler

New York: Mutual Music Society, Inc, 1943. Sheet_music. 47p., plus [2]p. publisher's ads, profuse musical notation with lyrics, printed on semi-alkaline jpaperstock (slightly toned), staplebound in 12x9 inch pictorial wraps. The spinefold is quite abraded with an inch-long split at the heel; general edgewear with a couple short closed tears, crimping and remnants of a long-gone sticker, plus a seller's numeral written in ink.. Textblock within is clean, sound and unmarked, a good (good-only) copy. Starts with "String of Pearls" (with a copyright of 1942) and includes "It 's Great To Be an American" ('41). Internal evidence shows this indeed to be a product of 1943: there are no later copyright dates, and a laudatory prefatory page mentions only his early struggles and his current immense popularity. FYI, his younger brother Herb was orchestra leader at Pacific Grove High School and we PG-ians noticed he didn't like to talk about Glenn, dead or alive.

Flagstaff: Northern Arizona Creative Printers, 1979. Pamphlet. 16p., professionally laid out and printed, softbound in 11x8.5 inch stapled decorated wraps. Front cover has a three-inch split at the tail that has caused textblock to escape its lower staple, expect crimping and abrasion along spinefold, cover also bears a sticker apparently placed to cancel incorrect info. Text per se is fastened soundly and is quite clean; a readable, handleable item. Dance contests are the main attraction, at least as far as the public and publicity are involved.
