Discusses dilemmas facing humanity at the dawn of the atomic age. Schilpp was a professor of philosophy interested in questions of moral decision making. Presentation inscription to Helen Mineta, sister of Congressperson Norman Mineta.

The text of both the 1933 and 1973 Humanist Manifestos, with an introduction by Paul Kurtz and a printed list of signers (B.F. Skinner, Gunnar Myrdal, Isaac Asimov, etc.).

Dehra Dun: Indian Renaissance Institute, 1947. Pamphlet. 8p. pastebound pamphlet, 6x9.75 inches, some uneven toning and edgewear. Unused application form laid in. Includes a secretary's report for activities up to November 1947. The Institute (later Association) was founded and led by M.N. Roy, a prominent Indian revolutionary, whose international adventures included working to found the Mexican Communist Party and the Communist Party of India (Tashkent Group). He was a delegate to the Communist International, expelled in 1929. After WWII he advocated a new philosophy expounded in his 1947 manifesto, New Humanism. M.N. Roy is recognized as one of the newest members elected by the board.

Detroit: News and Letters, 1976. Ephemera. This small archive comprises one letter written and signed by Ron Brokemeyer, a 3 page official call for convention by the Resident Editorial Board, an advertisement for a new series, and a 6p. pamphlet of the Constitution and By-laws of News and Letters Committees. Constitution has minor pen notation on front, and most items maintain a light damp stain on top the left corner, the letter by Brokemeyer is a tear in one corner, otherwise all items are in very good condition.
