Salzburgs wiederaufgebaute Synagoge; Festschrift zur Einweihung

Salzburg: Judaica Verlag, 1968. Paperback. 208p., illustrated with period photography and facsimiles, tables, lists of names. In the back find numerous ads for local business, possibly to encourage pilgrimage tourism, or to endorse acknowledgement of antisemitic crime. Softbound, bears a scrawled ownership name, quite worn with edgewear, handling-soil and small stains, with creasing, tears, and flecking to both covers, back cover especially. Interior is generally good except for ten or so leaves with corner-tip adhesions which we have freed up successfully. A reference copy, as is.

'Black Power': Two Views. 'Black Power' and Coalition Politics [by] Bayard Rustin; In Defense of 'Black Power' [by] David Danzig [in] Commentary volume 42 number 3, September 1966

By Rustin, Bayard, David Danzig, contributors. Norman Podhoretz, editor

New York: American Jewish Committee, 1966. Magazine. Respectively pp.35-40, and pp41-46 (of 106p., complete issue); the original magazine in 11x8 inch wraps. A very nice-looking copy, pace a toned spine panel (the pink has faded to tan), the textblock is toned but not badly, cover and contents are sound, clean and unmarked. Rustin hopes to salvage coalitions by making broader ones (emphasis on economic equality), and to avoid the black power movement because exclusively 'self-interested' (exclusive self-interest dooms any movement). Other contributions are from Robert Alter on Malamud, Frederick Crews (freshly famous for his Pooh Perplex) on Walker Percy.
