New York: Guaranty Trust Company of New York, 1916. 53p., 4.75x7 inches, booklet with mildly soiled wraps bearing the stamp of the Rand School of Social Science Labor Research Dept., with a blue pencilled circle around the booklet title. Very good. Includes the "complements" slip from the bank's publicity manager layed in. "This little pamphlet is intended to throw some light on the financial and commercial conditions of the country and particularly to indicate the progress made by the people during the decade preceding the present war." This amounts to a little booklet summarizing the Russian economy pre-WWI and on the eve of the coming revolution, with the hope of selling Russian securities to American buyers. These include Peasants' Land Bank Mortgage Bonds, and Nobility Bank Mortgage Bonds soon to be rendered worthless.
