Cover story is about state senator John Briggs' shady finances with accusations of him mixing funds raised for the Briggs Initiative campaign with funds related to his aspirations to run for governor. Issue also runs a lengthy response from Huey Newton to a previous issue's article "Huey's Reign of Terror" about accusations of Newton's strong arming Elaine Brown and other Panthers over the years, as well as other criminal activities. Plus article on an interview with Elaine Brown where she denies she has become a born again Christian. Interview with William Burroughs, as well. This issue is from the late '70s era when the Barb had evolved into a quality paper with (mostly) serious journalism afoot.
