New York: the University, 1938. 284p., glossy paperstock throughout much in the vein of lesser school yearbooks but ratcheted up to a Big Business production. Hardbound in massive 12.5x9 inch black cloth boards with pressed decoration and titling in raised bronze, doublespread photographic endsheets, running borders in purple ("violet") ink. Cover is badly frayed at top and tail of backstrip, but the book overall is is pretty good shape: sound hinges, no markings, no autographs or ownership. Laid in is an "In Memoriam" sheet with photo. Looking over lists of boardmen we see David Sarnoff (1931), Cass Canfield (33), a Roosevelt, and many names we should know but don't. There is no "Jokes" section, yet joking abounds. San Francisco: L.P. McCarty, Publisher, 1877. Hardcover. 468p., small hardbound in 7x4.5 inch pebbled green cloth boards gilt; mild edgewear, probably from storage rather than from handling, we see signs of sophistication (tinting of abrasions) but even so a largely unhandled copy. Front hinge cracked at the copyright page which, with its verso the titlepage, was tipped onto a front blank, entire volume opens stiffly, compiler Mains plumped for least-expensive binderywork (credited to Spaulding & Barto, Book and Job Printers on Clay St., give them a wide berth). Cloth and gilt are bright, stats doubtless accurate, basically an exemplar what was thought to be important to San Franciscans in the '70s. Preface by compiler says he was encouraged by good sales of his first such annual, this his second, it was followed by further annuals.

Chicago: Networking for Democracy, 1993. Pamphlet. 16p., illustrated with a clear doublespread chart of definitions (pp.10, 11), softbound in 8.5x5.5 inch pamphlet wraps, very good condition. OCLC notes one copy in a collection (at Harvard) as of August, 2023.

Tyler TX: Public Relations Department, 1957. Pamphlet. 26p., printed on glossy alkaline paperstock and illustrated with a line map of routes and a fold-out chart showing interconnections of the numerous small subsidiary lines, and some non-rail holdings. Softbound, 7.5x5.5 inch stapled pamphlet, cover has a little light smudging probably more from storage than handling and perusal, and upper corner bears a few penciled numerals. A nice clean sound copy.

New York: E.W. Todd & Co, 1877. Pamphlet. Four-panel brochure, 10.25x14 inches, right edge somewhat tattered with tears, though text is complete. Updates of the NY Stock Exchange, bond quotations, etc, from the days when such reports moved at the speed of mail.

New York: Investors League, Inc, 1946. Pamphlet. 31p., stapled wraps, 5.5x8 inches, touch of rust to staples, small rust stain on rear wrap else very good condition.

London: Latin America Bureau, 1987. Paperback. iv, 104p., several photos and a map; first edition decorated 8.25 x 5.75 inch wraps, very faintest signs of handling.

London: Limited Liability Journal, 1861. Pamphlet. 15p., 5.5x8.5 inches, bottom corner of title page chipped, ex-library with pencil notations on title page and first page and blind stamp on p3, else good first edition pamphlet in later pasted marbled paper wraps. Collected reprints of articles printed in the journal on the subject. Only two holdings listed in OCLC as of 7/2022 and those are microform.

Unpaginated prelims, 366p., publisher's ads, hefty softbound in 9.5x6.5 inch spiderweb-decorated wraps. NIce clean sound copy, and it's signed by the author (as "Susanne") A dissertation for the doctor's degree in philosophy SSE.

New York: the newsletter, 2001. Wraps. 40 issues total in this run. 4p or 8p., Published about once a month sometimes once ever 2 months, or longer. Run is from issue No. 42 though No. 96. Missing issues in run are: Nos. 75-78, 84-89, always standard leaves with presswork on alkaline paperstock, flat and unfolded, address label on very back page of wraps for each issuu. This is Doug Henwoods economic newsletter based on his Marxist analysis of today's political economy.

New York: New York World's Fair 1939, Inc, 1938. Pamphlet. 16p., nice alkaline paperstock, a stapled 12.5x9 inch brochure, b&w illustrations throughout with monochrome spot color. Worn: dust-soil, crimping and a light vertical crease of the entire item, staples are rusted (migration), much slighter signs of handling within, fair to good copy. A periodic up-date and come-on aimed at investors; first lines of text read "With Five Buildings in Design Stage the World's Fair Will Soon Begin to 'Jell' ,, The year 1937 will see the Fair poured in its mold and starting to 'jell'..

Boston: Beacon Press, 1971. Paperback. liv, 346p., softbound in 8x5.5 inch stylized wraps, very good condition: quite sound, clean, unmarked in any way.

Washington, D. C.: GPO, 1973. iv, 283p., plain printed self-wraps with exposed staples as issued, mild signs of handling.

Sacramento: California State Printing Office for the commission, 1919. Pamphlet. 23p., staplebound pamphlet in 9x6 inch printed plain wraps. A little dusty and handled, with a small pressure mark to rear cover and adjacent leaves, front cover bears the rubberstamp of the Los Angeles branch of the commission, staples touched with rust. A good copy. Provides proper forms for complaints, subpoenas, articles of incorporation, authority to issue stocks, applications to sell or "otherwise encumber public utility property" Title page specifies that the item in hand is a "reprint," from what earlier month and year we cannot tell, but is plainly is of the period and is indeed 1919 as per title page.

Schenectady, NY: General Electric, 1940. Pamphlet. Chatty brag with, beyond the financial info, b&w site and exhibit photos, spot-color decorations (each item a different color), printed on glossy alkaline paperstock; most are staplebound, all but the last number measuring 8x6.5 inches (the last a different format measuring 8x3 inches), and bearing vertical creases for mailing in a standard envelope. A little crimping here and there, very good copies. FYI, the 10/25/39 issue is simply a folio sheet folded twice which unfolded is a poster in full color touting how electric appliances "keep mothers young!" Also of note, 10/25/33 promotes NRA with a beautifully rendered logo, "we do our part

Ann Arbor: Radical Education Project, [196-?]. Pamphlet. 64p., stapled wraps, very good condition, 5.5x8.5 inches. This article originally appeared in the Autumn 1961 and Winter 1962 issue of New University Thought.

New York: the company, 1948. Pamphlet. [10]p., nicely-printed item in 9x6 inch stapled wraps. Cover bears a few inked numerals in an upper corner, is faintly touched with dust, a very good copy. Warns that "Unless the railroads are permitted to become strong under private ownership, they may be taken over by the government. On January 1, 1948, the railroads of the United States and one railroad in Canada were the only important privately-owned and operated ones in the world
