Appears unread. Illustrated with b&w photos This must be the best-written book ever about Rhodesia-Zimbabwe. Pages lightly tanned.

Unread. 478pp incl index, tables Appendices. This book is quite rare. It was written during the years of the Bush War and is therefor very significant.

Spine faded and recoloured. Very little foxing mostly confined to prelims and the ads. Portrait as frontis and another, both with tanned tissue guards and some foxing. From the Mossel Bay Library with all numbers and labels removed except for one stamp to show provenance. Father Kerr's observations and Christian ministrations in India and Rhodesia are highly interesting. A unique colour folding map of Southern Rhodesia and parts of N Rhodesia drawn especially for this book by the S J. (probably by the author)

Edges yellowed, pages yellowing from outside in; some pages show wrinkling from dampness. b&w photos in text.

Front cover has very slight wear on edges. Appears largely unread. This book is now out of print. and the publisher sadly cannot be traced. Covered in adhesive plastic.

Dj was protected in plastic. Unfortunately, Sellotape was used on the verso of the dust jacket, There are 6 pieces of tape staining on the verso, the largest being 50x10mm but none are showing thru to the recto.(outside). Likewise, the front and rear covers of the book also show tape marks, 3 in total, the largest being 26x15mm but now naturally underneath and hidden by the dj. 314pp incl index; 8pp b&w photog plates.

The head and tail of both dust jacket and book have been touched up; rear cover is rubbed slightly. A blank "Ex Libris" covers small damage on front fep.This is the first complete account of the third expedition by Livingstone, regarded at the time as a failure, ending tragically with several deaths including his own wife. Much glossed over, here we now have this story of daring and endurance, but also such tragedy.
